"The Garfield Show," an all-new CGI animated television show produced by Dargaud Media/Ellipsanime Productions and Paws, Inc. debuted in France on France 3 network on Monday, December 22nd, and the ratings are off the charts! Airing weekdays, "The Garfield Show," has attracted a wide audience ranging from kids to adults.
In a recent interview, France 3's Julien Borde, Youth Programming Director said, "The launch of this show has been welcomed warmly and ratings are exceptional for France 3. We can even say this is historic for our channel. A million viewers watched the show. A few short weeks after its debut, "The Garfield Show" is already among the top audience of the leading cartoons of the channel, at the third place. We here at France 3 are extremely satisfied and proud of this success."
"The Garfield Show" has been sold to Cartoon Network in Africa, Eastern Europe, the Middle East, Europe (except France, where it airs on France 3), Scandinavia, Asia (Japan not included), United Kingdom, Australia/New Zealand, and Latin America. Fifty-two eleven-minute episodes are in production and debuts will take place throughout 2009 with translations in English, French, German, Dutch, Portugeuse, Spanish, and Italian.
